“Ozone is safe to breathe while the machine is running.” Independent air quality research shows that ozone only neutralises odours effectively at concentrations well above safe indoor breathing limits. That’s why a professional odour control job means clearing the property during treatment, then ventilating thoroughly before anyone returns.
“A spray or air freshener counts as odour control.” Masking sprays cover a smell temporarily, but they don’t remove the molecules causing it. Once the fragrance fades, the original odour usually comes straight back.
“One ozone pass will fix any smell.” Smoke and pet urine odours are often chemically stubborn. Consequently, they may need a multi-stage treatment, or even source removal such as underlay replacement, before the job is truly finished.

How soon can I return home after an odour control treatment? This depends on the size of the job and which method we use. Ozone treatment needs the property to be empty during and shortly after the process, so we’ll confirm a safe return time before we finish up.
Will odour control remove pet urine smell completely, or just mask it? Our ozone and UV fogging methods target the odour source rather than covering it up. In cases where urine has soaked into underlay or subfloor, we may recommend removing that material for a complete result.
